Laptop Vs Computer February 21, 2009

Reserved for the most fortunate few years ago, buying a laptop to replace and / or expand its desktop PC is an option to be considered today. Indeed the price of this concentrated technology has greatly declined over the years 2005 and 2006 due to falling prices of LCD (used increasingly for monitors and TVs).
Of course, the essential interest of a laptop is its very small footprint compared to a conventional desktop computer. But this space is particularly expensive because of the miniaturization of components, but offers some advantages related to mobility. With their multimedia options (17-inch screens, powerful graphics cards and DVD players / recorders integrated …), the least we can say is that the latest models of laptops have almost nothing to envy the great. Go directly to the buying guide for notebooks and our selection of templates.
The most important negative points of the laptop compared to desktop computers are as follows:
1) The price, it remains higher by about 20 to 30% performance comparable (this figure is very approximate only serves to give an idea).
2) The weakest performance, especially in the 3D (for games) and the limited speed of hard drives as 2 “5 inches (4200 and 5400tpm). Only the DELL brand has 7200tpm optional.
3) Scalability: we can not change that very few components on a laptop from the memory and hard drive is in general quite expensive. The graphics cards are usually soldered on the motherboard that prevents upgrade even though NVIDIA has introduced the MXM format PCI-Express which allows you to change the graphics card to a laptop. Unfortunately, few models are equipped with this system which is struggling to gain acceptance.
